The National Monuments Service's description
Set into the S slope of Carrabane beside a small roadway. Outside is largely obscured by modern field walls. Marked on the 1938-9 OS '6-inch map' as 'Teach Alluis'. The entrance (Wth 0.4m; H 0.65m) is low, narrow and lintelled and leads to a circular interior (int. diam. NW-SE 1.25m; H 1.35m). Stones at the entrance may be the remains of floor paving. Substantial evidence for burning. According to tradition this sweat-house was used to cure pleurisy. (SMR file)
