The National Monuments Service's description
Archaeological monitoring in relation to a proposed large-scale commercial development in 2003 resulted in the identification of a number of archaeological features. Subsequent excavations at ‘Site 6’ revealed a charcoal-rich deposit that subsequently proved to be the fill of a ditch (L 4.71m; Wth 1.12m; D 0.56m). A radiocarbon date for the fill is forthcoming (Ó Maoldúin and Keeley 2006, 321).
