The National Monuments Service's description

Located towards the bottom of a steep E-facing slope with rock outcrop of Crocknagapple Hill, and indicated as a subcircular feature only on the OS 25-inch map. This is a grass-covered oval area (int. dims 31m E-W; 22m N-S) defined by a stone spread (max. Wth 4.2m at S; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1m) NE-S-SW, which is reduced to an internal scarp (H 1m) elsewhere. The original entrance is not identified, and an E-W farm track crosses the interior at N.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
