The National Monuments Service's description

Off the brow of a hill, on a NE-facing slope that overlooked a small stream to the E. Excavated in 2007 in advance of the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford road improvement scheme (Licence no. E3614). A possible structure (c. 3m x 4m) comprising a linear slot-trench (3.75m x 0.25m x 0.1m) containing sherds of early Neolithic carinated bowl. A sample of ash charcoal from the slot-trench yielded a radiocarbon date of 3518-3368 cal BC (UBA-15544). A date obtained from one of four post-holes found close by indicated a date of 3941-3696 cal BC (UBA-15545) which suggests more than one phase of activity. Ten further pits/post-holes were found within the excavation area but none conformed to any obvious structural pattern. (Jennings 2010, 244, 917; Jennings and Coughlan 2011)
