The National Monuments Service's description
In tillage. Indicated on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map as a roughly circular enclosure (overall diam. c. 38m) with a trigonometric station (236ft) in the interior. On the 1948 revision of this OS map the NE portion of the enclosure appears to have been damaged, partially levelled or quarried into, as only the S half and W sector are indicated. The monument was inspected in April 1955 and described as, ‘a small platform ring-fort (internal dimeter, E-W 90ft [27.4m]). The soil is much disturbed by rabbit burrows. A good deal of the northern part of the fort has apparently been removed (this does not seem to have been done recently). The level of the platform is about 4ft 6 inches [1.36m] above the surrounding ground-level. There was apparently a ditch round the platform, but only slight traces remain, except on the S side, where the bottom of the ditch is about 6ft 6 inches [1.97m] below the platform and 2ft [0.6m] below the outer ground-level’ (OPW Correspondence, 1955). It was subsequently levelled as part of a Land Project scheme. It is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs (ASIAP (108) 28-31, 22 July 2000) and on satellite imagery (Google Earth, imagery date 13 August 2015).
