The National Monuments Service's description
Upstanding in the graveyard (KK025-062002-) of Tullaherin, immediately S of the S wall of the nave of the medieval church (KK024-062001-), at the W end. One of two ogham stones (see also KK024-006005-) at this early church site, which also has a round tower (KK024-062004-). Although this stone was found at Loughboreen, Co. Kilkenny it is believed to have originated at Tullaherin. Measuring 1.56m high x 0.51m x 0.26m, the stone was used as a gate pier and has a metal bar inserted at the top. The inscription is badly damaged (particularly the vowels) and what survives reads: D[ ... ]T M[U]C[OI ... ]R[ ... ]G[ ... ]N. (McManus 1997, 75)
This stone has been studied as part of the ‘Ogham in 3D’ project undertaken by the School of Celtic Studies, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies. To access details go to the following website: http://ogham.celt.dias.ie/search.php?ciic=Tullaherin_II
