The National Monuments Service's description
In a prominent position on top of a natural hillock, in rolling grassland. There are commanding views in all directions. Depicted on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map as a rectangular enclosure (c. 28m NW-SE; c. 16m NE-SW), with a field boundary running N-S along the edge of the E portion. On the 1947 revision OS 6-inch map it is depicted as a D-shaped enclosure, the E field boundary forming the straight edge. A roughly circular platform (dims. 17m N-S; 19m E-W; H c. 1.2m). There is an entrance ramp (Wth 6-7m) in the SE sector which, though probably modern, may conceal the original entrance. The fairly flat interior slopes slightly to the W, dropping c. 0.5m from E to W. There is a berm (Wth 2-5m) around the base of the platform at N, S and W. The E sector has been truncated by or incorporated into the N-S running field boundary.
