The National Monuments Service's description
In marshy land on a valley floor. The castle (KK003-004001-) and bawn (KK003-004002-) of Castletown are located c. 65m to the NNE. Identified as a roughly circular feature (c. 10m) on aerial photograph (CUCAP, AIG 23, 1963), defined by a fosse. when inspected in 1987 it was not visible at ground level. It has subsequently been quarried out.
