The National Monuments Service's description

In rough pasture, on an elevation, on the SE-facing slopes of Knockbeg. A roughly circular cairn (6m E-W; 5.3m N-S; H 0.5m) of partially grass-covered loose stones, which protrudes above the surface of the bog. There is a depression (1.7m E-W; 1m N-S; D 0.4m) on the upper surface of the cairn. A radial-stone enclosure (KE109-004----) lies c. 4m to the SSE and there is a network of field walls (KE109-004003-) immediately to the N.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
