The National Monuments Service's description
In undulating pasture, at the base of a waterfall, at the head of a NW-facing valley, below Knocknagoraveela. A spread (15m E-W; 6m N-S) of burnt material. According to local information, a mound was levelled here in the recent past during drainage works and land reclamation. An underground drain (L c. 25m), apparently extends to the river at W.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
