The National Monuments Service's description

In undulating pasture, at the base of a waterfall, at the head of a NW-facing valley, below Knocknagorraveela. A spread (7.5m NW-SE; 6m NE-SW) of burnt material. According to local information, a mound was levelled here in the recent past during land drainage and reclamation works.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
