The National Monuments Service's description

In rough hill pasture, on cutaway bog on a SW-facing slope overlooking the valley of Lough Inchiquin. A rectangular cist (dims. 1.15m x 0.47m; D 0.25m), within a shallow depression, is defined by upright stone slabs set contiguously. The interior, partially filled with peat and water, is floored with stone slabs. A small peaty mound to the NW may be composed of material removed from the cist. A wedge tomb (KE101-069001-) lies c. 2.5m to the NNW and a cairn (KE101-137----) lies c. 60m to the SSE.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
