The National Monuments Service's description

This record was formerly classed as an 'Enclosure' in the SMR (1990) and the RMP (1997). However, information from the original Iveragh Survey visit indicates this is a possible modern fionnán enclosure (SMR file). A subsequent field inspection in April 2003 records that this is a boggy area and that the stones of the enclosing element are only embedded on the bog surface thus indicating that it is of relatively recent construction.
