The National Monuments Service's description
A number of pre-bog walls occur in the immediate vicinity of the site. One runs the length of the entire slope, breaking only at the location of the tomb. Many of the walls have collapsed, but in general they survive up to 1m above the level of the bog.
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 89. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
