The National Monuments Service's description
In rough hill pasture, on a SE-facing slope near the head of the Owbaun River. A circular area (diam. 12m) defined by a collapsed drystone wall (T 0.7m; H 0.7m). The wall forms a pronounced point at the S. The S portion of the interior is raised and the N portion is cut into the upslope to compensate for the hillslope. However, the interior still retains a slope (L c. 3m) down from the N wall to the SE and then levels off. A rectangular and a circular arrangement of stones in the S half of the interior appear to be of recent origin. A rectangular area (dims. c. 6m x 7m) poorly defined by stones abuts the outer edge of the enclosure wall at E. A wall from a network of field boundaries (KE084-004002-) extends from the SE corner of this rectangular area.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
