Caherbaun/An Chathair Bhán: This ruined caher, located on top of a low hill, survives as a circular area enclosed by a collapsed wall. The wall is heavily overgrown, averaging 3.5m wide and up to 1m high above external ground level. The outer wall-face is completely obscured and the inner face, where exposed, appears to have been rebuilt. It is not clear if the modern entrance located at N occupies the site of the original entrance. A galvanised hayshed is located in the centre of the disturbed interior of the caher.

The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 555. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
