The National Monuments Service's description
The 'Gallaun' marked on the second edition of the OS map was located immediately S of the juncture of the Inny and Owroe rivers. The land in which it stood has recently been ploughed and there is no visible trace of the stone.
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 225. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
