The National Monuments Service's description
The site measures 26.5m N-S x 18m E-W, and its stony interior is considerably disturbed. It was formerly used as a burial ground (KE080-006001-) (local information). An upright slab in the interior may relate to this period of use.
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 659. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
