The National Monuments Service's description
A circular field, designated 'Gortnaruga', is marked on the first edition of the OS map at this location. No surface trace remains of the site, which is located in pasture overlooking the Ferta river to N. It is locally remembered as a circular structure.
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 801. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
