The National Monuments Service's description
In rough pasture, on level area of a S-facing slope, within small triangular field; Heath and bog to N. Good views in all directions, particularly E->S->W->NW. Substantial upright stone (H 3.2m; Wth 2.15m; T 0.75m) of green sandstone; long-axis E-W. The W-end is aligned in the direction of Aghadoe and The Lakes of Killarney with a backdrop of Purple, Shehy and Tomies Mountains and The Gap of Dunloe. Stone is sub-rectangular in plan and triangular in elevation to N and S, tapering to a distinct point. Ground around base of stone has been reduced c. 0.65m. Some ground still in-situ with packing stones on S-side, W-side and a short return to N-side. Base is broken at W; fractured stone protrudes loosely from ground adjacent break. Corner of stone chipped above base at S-end. A variety of mature lichens and occasional crusteose and moss on all elevations. Small pit marks in vertical lines appear to be a result of natural erosion. Farm trackway extends to NE.
