The National Monuments Service's description
Internal diam. 19m N-S, 20.5m E-W
An oval univallate enclosure situated in the N corner of a S facing pasture field overlooking Minard and Dingle Bay. Along the NW sector the enclosure is defined by a field wall which follows the line of the original enclosing element. The remainder of the perimeter is defined by a drop of up to 1.8m to the external ground level. Along the S half of the enclosure, this scarp is surmounted by a low stone and earth bank, no more than .5m high internally and at least 2m wide. A single upright stone, set across the width of the bank at E, may indicate the location of the original entrance; it is .6m high and .7m long. The ill-defined breaks in the bank at S and W are probably secondary.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 435. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
