The National Monuments Service's description
Internal diam. 23m
This roughly circular rath lies beside the roadway on a gentle SE facing slope overlooking Minard. It is enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and fosse with an outer bank present along the SE sector only. The latter is c. 0.75m high. The fosse is 4m wide, 2m deep externally and 3.5m deep below the crest of the inner bank. It is present around the SW half of the site only. The inner bank is up to 3m high internally. The 3m wide entrance gap faces SE. The interior is densely overgrown but some heaps of stone are evident. A possible house site has previously been recorded in the interior (KAS).
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 503. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
