The National Monuments Service's description

Reported to the Archaeological Survey of Ireland as a possible enclosure. No trace of an enclosure could be identified. D-shaped area (dims. 14m E-W; 5.5m N-S) containing weathered boulders and small stones c. 1 to 2 stones deep, located along the S boundary of this field. None appear to have any markings or form any specific pattern. According to local information this is a field clearance cairn. If this is the case, it is unusual, despite extensive land improvements that it has not been removed from this location or been reused in the construction of the new field boundary c. 15m to E. The stones in this cairn are weathered and can be clearly identified on OS aerial photography for at least the last 20 years (see attached aerial photographs 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010 and 2014).
