The National Monuments Service's description
Situated in gently sloping pastureland on the lower S slopes of Knocknakilton overlooking the Emlagh river valley, the 'splendid' souterrain noted by Ashe (1954, 29) is no longer accessible. A single roofslab is visible on the surface but no details of the size or layout of the monument are available.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 782. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
