The National Monuments Service's description

Lios Póil: Both the OSNB (Minard, 31) and An Seabhac (1939, 173) mention a ringfort in the SW corner of this townland. It was apparently sited near the present R.C. Chapel but no visible trace survives and the precise location has not been identified. It was circular and 'about 4 chains (80m) in diameter with a stone ditch round it' (OSNB).

The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 662. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
