No trace survives of the 'Gallaun' marked on the 1st edition of the OS map. In the OSM 2 stones are noted in this area, neither position corresponding to that on the 1st edition, and it is therefore uncertain how many stones originally existed.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 163. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
