The National Monuments Service's description
This killeen consists of an elongated sub-rectangular mound measuring 21.6m long, 4m-7m wide and 1.5m high. A fieldbank is situated less than 2m W of this site. Towards the centre of this elongated mound on the S side is a disturbance that reduces the width of the mound to 4m. This site is marked on the OS map as 'Killeen Children's Burial Ground (disused)'.
The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 854. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
