The National Monuments Service's description
Internal diameter 35m N-S, 34m E-W
Situated in boggy land, the view from this site is excellent in all directions. This sub-circular univallate rath has an enclosing bank that measures 1.4m externally and 1m above the interior. A gap of 5m exists to the E, and to the SW the bank has been disturbed for 11m and a trough placed just inside the interior. On the interior side of the bank to the S to E there would appear to be a ditch that runs for 13m before developing into a small mound, 4m x 3.4m externally.
The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 310. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
