This is the most northerly promontory fort on the Kerry coast. It is marked on the 1840-41 and 1914-15 OS map as 'Lissadooneen' (Lios an Dúinín - ringfort of the little fortification). About 7.5m from the fort is the burial place of a ship's crew, while SE lies a standing stone (11).
Lissadooneen has a curved fosse and ramparts 30m long through the fosse. The outer bank is low and wide and ranges in width between .7m-1.2m; its external height measures 1m. The fosse is deep and wide; 2m wide at most sections. The depth measures between 2.8m below the external bank and 6m below the internal bank.
The fosse is little filled, which may suggest maintenance to late times. The internal bank rises steeply from the fosse. It measures 10m in width and its height above the interior is 3.4m. The causeway is 5.1m long, 2.5m wide x 1.4m high above the fosse. The internal area is wedge shaped and measures 50m long and 33.2m wide.
