The National Monuments Service's description

The monument is shown on the 1st. ed. (1838) of the OS 6-inch map as a large, roughly sub-circular area (est. diams. c. 60m E-W; c. 50m N-S) defined by a bank with straight portions along the N, E, SE, SW and NW, and is visible on an aerial photograph (GSI S 219) which shows the cropmark of a narrow fosse enclosing a sub-rectangular or oval area. In 1986, a slight depression (dims c. 27m N-S; 11m E-W) was visible at this location (SMR file). On a gentle, NE-facing downslope in mixed tillage and pasture. The local field boundaries shown on the current ed. (1939) of the OS 6-inch map have been removed.
