The National Monuments Service's description
On a narrow terrace in a W-facing slope near the S-foot of the Red Hills (OD 197m). A very large and well-defined, oval earthen mound (H 1.9m at NE-3.5m at SW; base diams. 68m NW-SE; 58m NE-SW; upper surface diams. 17m NE-SW; 14m NW-SE) is girdled by a broad berm (total ext. diams. 129m NW-SE; 111m NE-SW). Aerial photographs (CUCAP BDO 41 (1970) and BGN 16 (1971)) show the cropmarks of both a wide external fosse and a narrow inner fosse. These features are no longer visible at ground level. Possibly an exceptionally large barrow like the one in Hallahoise (KD037-051----).
