The National Monuments Service's description
In gently undulating rocky scrub area of wider house plot, upon large E-facing rock outcrop (long-axis NE-SW) that extends under front elevation of a timber out building (constructed upon stilts); pathway to front door of outbuilding is adjacent to N. A slightly rough and fractured, large expanse of rock outcrop which bears natural striations, solution marks and fissures, all covered by a light layer of moss. It has a relatively steep E-facing decorated surface (dims. min. 1.2m N-S; min. 0.8m E-W) which appears to continue under this raised structure. The decorative elements consist of a large heptagonal motif (dims. 0.54m N-S; 0.42m E-W) defined by curvilinear groove (Wth 1.5cm; D 4mm). A sub-rectangular feature (dims. 18cm N-S; 35cm E-W) adjoins to N and is defined by linear groove (Wth 1.5cm; D 2mm). A third curvilinear feature is situated c. 20cm to E and continues under the building. Initially identified as rock art by George Dose (21/03/1994).
