The National Monuments Service's description

In rough grazing, on the SE bank of a stream on the S-facing slopes of Sugarloaf Mountain. A crescent-shaped mound (9.5m NE-SW; 8m NW-SE; H 1.05m) of heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil. The opening (Wth 1.4m) faces NW towards the stream. Erosion has exposed small patches of the burnt material at NW. Occasional stones protrude from the surface of the mound. Two burnt mounds (CO104-027004-, CO104-027005-) lie c. 30m to the E. A cairn (CO104-027003-) lies c. 90m to the ENE.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
