The National Monuments Service's description
In rough pasture, on a bog-covered terrace, on the S-facing rocky slopes of Sugarloaf Mountain. The Beara Way walking route is c. 100m to the S. The remains of a circular cairn (6.5m E-W; 6m N-S; H 0.8m) are partially sod-covered and feature intermittent traces of a kerb N-SW. Disturbance of the cairn material has resulted in depressions on the surface at the S and E as well as a spread of stones extending outwards at the NW. Two burnt mounds (CO104-027004-; CO104-027005-) and a fulacht fia (CO104-027006-) are c. 50m to the W, c. 60m to the W and c. 90m to the WSW, respectively. There is a multiple-stone circle (CO104-027001-) and a boulder burial (CO104-027002-) c. 50m to the S.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
