The National Monuments Service's description
On rough pasture, in an area of cutaway bog at the foot of Tooreennamna Mountain. Intermittent stretches of relict stone field boundaries (T max. 0.7m; H max. 0.5m) have been exposed by turf-cutting in this irregularly shaped area (c. 650m NE-SW; c. 500m NW-SE). The relict boundaries, which appear to be set on the underlying mineral soil, are in a collapsed state with only the base stones protruding above the surface of the remaining shallow bog. Many stones are set at right angles to the line of the walls. Occasionally the relict boundaries disappear under deeper uncut bog. The visible walls, which are often discontinuous, are generally curvilinear with only occasional linear stretches noted.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
