The National Monuments Service's description

In rough pasture, in an area of largely cutaway bog stretching to the SE from Glenbeg Lake on the lower N-facing slopes of Tooreennamna Mountain. Intermittent stretches of relict stone field boundaries (max. T 0.7m; max. H 0.5m) have been exposed by turf-cutting in this area (c. 700m NE-SW; c. 400m NW-SE). In general these pre-bog walls, which rest on the underlying mineral soil, are in a collapsed state with only the base stones protruding above the surface of the remaining shallow bog. Occasionally the walls disappear under deeper bog. The visible walls, which are often discontinuous, are generally curvilinear and only occasional linear stretches were noted.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
