The National Monuments Service's description
Sub-circular enclosure situated at the head of the Cooleenlemane River valley on a slightly raised area with extensive views down the valley. It is formed by dry stone walling with a max H of 1m and 0.7m Wth, which has been dug into the slope along the north and west sides to create a more level interior. Its internal measurements are c.7.8m E-W and c.6m N-S. Earthworks on the eastern side could be the footprint of an earlier and larger enclosure buried beneath the turf. This enclosure is partially surrounded by a network of field boundaries. One length of walling extends c.20m to the west from the enclosure and a second for c.15m to the E which then continues further to the north following the bank of the river. There is a third length of c.20m of walling built of contiguously set stones, orientated NW-SE c.15m to the north of the enclosure. There is a second enclosure c.40m to the NE.
