The National Monuments Service's description

This structure was excavated within an enclosure (CO067-086----) at Ballynacarriga in 2001 during advance work on the N25 Youghal Bypass. The circular structure (diam. 8.7m) was located towards the centre of the main enclosure and was defined by 81 stake-holes (diam. 0.03-0.18m; D 0.1-0.32m). The circle of stake-holes was truncated by a modern linear drain along the N side and was further cut by a later rectangular structure (CO067-086002-) at the SW. A corn-drying kiln (CO067-086006-) is situated to the W. (Noonan 2003e, 29; Noonan et al. 2004, 15-17)

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
