The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on WNW-facing slope, overlooking Owenbaun River. Circular area (32m N-S) enclosed by two earthen banks (H 0.9m) NW->WSW with shallow intervening fosse; elsewhere banks removed by quarrying which extends into interior. Gap in inner bank (Wth 2.5m) to NNW and in outer bank (Wth 3m) to N. Banks and disused quarry planted with coniferous trees. Surrounding field fences removed; debris dumped on outer bank and intervening fosse to E, adjacent to N-S trackway outside fort.
