The National Monuments Service's description
In a coniferous plantation, on a NNE-facing slope. A large mound (diam. c. 18m) of heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil, densely covered with overgrowth of ferns and briars. The burnt material is visible in section in a trench (D 1m) which has been cut through the mound. A hawthorn tree grows on the mound.
