The National Monuments Service's description
Built against slope, on S side of old trackway. Random-rubble front wall and stone-faced side walls retain earthen core. Front elevation (H c. 4m; Wth 7.5m) faces E; arched recess (H 1.45m; Wth 2.35m; D 2m) with sloping slabs at rear. Old trackway approaches rear of kiln; ramp removed leaving rear of kiln c. 1m H. Partially infilled sandstone-lined funnel (diam. 2m).
