The National Monuments Service's description

On karst ground at the NE end of a col between Knockanes Hill to the NW and another ridge to the SE, offering wide views from NNE to E and visible from the NE approach to the col. This oval-shaped cairn (11.2m E-W; 8.6m N-S; H 1.7-3m) is composed largely of fist-sized stones and has an even surface. The cairn material forms an E-W ridge (L 2.1m) at the top of the cairn. A later drystone wall overlies the W side of the cairn, and continues to the NW.
