The National Monuments Service's description

In a narrow, sheltered gorge running NE-SW, the floor of which is damp and covered in rushes. Immediately to the E, a rock-face forms the SE side of the gorge. The OS 25-inch plan records a ‘Spring’ c. 50m to the SW and labels the area ‘Liable to Floods’. Listed as ‘Fulachta fia’ (i.e. plural) in the RMP (1996) on the basis of a 1994 map annotation ‘fulacht fiadh complex’ by Tom Coffey (SMR file). This well-preserved fulacht fia comprises a grass-covered, horseshoe-shaped mound (c. 15m NNE-SSW; 12m ESE-WNW; int. H 0.5-0.8m; ext. H 0.8-0.9m) which is open towards the ESE, and encloses a concave area (c. 5m WNW-ESE; 2.2m NNE-SSW). At the W edge of the interior, the enclosing mound is damaged, exposing burnt stone and ash. Extending S from the mound is a linear spread (L 4m N-S; H 0.8m) of what appears to be a continuation of, or a slippage of, burnt stone.
