The National Monuments Service's description

On a slight rise in an area of thick scrub (whitethorn, blackthorn and briar) with good views NW-E-S obscured by higher ground elsewhere. Outlined on the both the first (1842) and later, Cassini edition (1920) of the OS 6-inch map. This mostly levelled and overgrown square cashel (int. dims. 32m N-S; 32m E-W) is defined by collapsed stone walling (Wth 5-6.5m; av. ext. H 1m). The wall remains are slightly more substantial intermittently S-W. There is an enclosure (CL010-056----) c. 77m to the W.
