Megalithic tomb - wedge tomb

The National Monuments Service's description

On level, exposed limestone pavement with Loch Gealáin visible to the SW and Mulagh More rising to the E. Noted by the Megalithic Survey of Ireland (Ó Nualláin 1989, 134). This partly damaged wedge tomb (min. L 3.7m) is orientated NE-SW. It is defined by a large, upstanding sidestone (L 3.7m; H 1.5m; T 0.09m) on the SE, and by three smaller sidestones (L 1.28-1.56m; H 0.52-1.4m; T 0.12-0.15m) on the NW. Two of the latter slabs lean to the NW, and a broken upper fragment (L 1.27m) of the SW slab lies prostrate immediately to the NW. A large roofstone fragment (L 2.4m; Wth 0.78m; T 0.12m) lies within the NE end of the tomb chamber, leaning against the SE sidestone. Otherwise, the tomb interior is strewn with rubble. A flat-lying slab (L 1.45m; T 0.18m) immediately to the SW of the tomb may have originally formed part of it. A later drystone livestock pen is built against the outer face of the SE sidestone.
