Situated in the N centre of an ecclesiastical enclosure (CL010-108001-). Indicated as a subcircular walled area and named ‘Grave Yard’ on the 1842 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Indicated as an elongated suboval area with a broken outline on the 1897 OS 25-inch plan and the 1920 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. This irregular-shaped overgrown graveyard (c. 32m ENE-WSW; c. 20m NNW-SSE) is defined by a variety of enclosing elements: a faintly traceable fosse (Wth 0.8m; D 0.2m) from N to ENE; a large facing-boulder (L 1.4m; H 0.44m) at the E edge which has been moved out of its original position; a largely overgrown bank (av. Wth 2.8m; int. H 0.4m; max. ext. H 1m) comprising original and later loose stones along the relatively straight E-SW perimeter; and a line (L 3m; H 0.5m) of four contiguous outer facing-stones at the SW. Occupying the W interior and edge of the graveyard is a church (CL010-108002-). To the N of this the NW quadrant of the graveyard including its enclosing element appear to have been removed. Within the overgrown graveyard several large blocks are scattered throughout the N half. Near the S edge is a small subcircular cairn. Rough graves or headstones are mainly evident in the SW sector. Among the poorly defined graves, the tallest marker is a holed stone (CL010-108005-) situated 3m from the graveyard’s SW edge. According to historic OS maps the site of a friary (CL010-108004-) lies c. 8m to the ESE of the graveyard.
