The National Monuments Service's description

On a narrow and fairly level terrace in the W face of a steep ridge and surrounded by improved pastureland and situated among the field system (CL002-03001-) on the E side of the valley between Gleninagh ‘Mountain’ and Cappanawalla Hill, c. 44m upslope and N of the large internally terraced cashel ‘Caherfeenagh’ (CL002-033004-). Not listed in the SMR (1992) or the RMP (1996). Indicated on the 1842 ed. of the OS 6-inch map with a solid line forming a rectangle and on the 1915 ed. as a solid line forming an oval. A subcircular area (int. dims. 6.7m E–W; 5.4m N–S) defined by a modern drystone wall overlying on older foundation line. Substantial cashel-like stones are visible on the ground (Wth 1.8m; H 0.2m) adjacent a gap to the W (Wth 2.5m). A blocked gap at N is also flanked in the lower courses by large cashel-like stones. A blocked ‘pooreen’ lies in the modern walling at E (Wth 0.6m; H 0.4m). This is likely a hut site related to the Caherfeenagh cashel now overlain by a modern wall converting it into an animal pen.
