Historique
La longère, située face à l'Hôtel de Ville de Saint-Paul, appartient à un ensemble de bâtiments qui ont visiblement occupé plusieurs fonctions. Faute de documentation disponible, il est difficile de dater précisément la construction de cet édifice. Un croquis des pas géométriques daté de 1871 apporte des indications sur le terrain d'assiette du bâtiment actuel mentionnant cette parcelle sous le nom de Cayenne, appellation correspondant à l'affectation des bâtiments aux services des Ponts et Chaussées. Les bâtiments sont construits sur une parcelle fermée, côté place du Général de Gaulle, par la longère. Une porte cochère et une porte piétonne donnent accès à la cour et aux bâtiments. La longère, dotée d'un simple rez-de-chaussée, est construite en maçonnerie de moellons enduite et badigeonnée. La façade sur la place présente une porte cochère, une fenêtre à gauche et trois fenêtres, dont une murée, à droite. Le bâtiment est couvert de tôles à joints (ouest), et de tôles sur tasseaux (est).

History
The long house, situated opposite the Town Hall of Saint-Paul, belongs to a complex of buildings which clearly occupied several functions. Lacking available documentation, it is difficult to date precisely the construction of this building. A sketch of geometric measurements dated 1871 provides indications on the site of the present building mentioning this plot under the name of Cayenne, an appellation corresponding to the allocation of buildings to the services of Bridges and Roads. The buildings are constructed on a plot enclosed, on the side of Place du Général de Gaulle, by the long house. A carriage gate and a pedestrian gate give access to the courtyard and to the buildings. The long house, equipped with a simple ground floor, is constructed in rubble stone masonry plastered and whitewashed. The façade on the square presents a carriage gate, one window to the left and three windows, one of which is blocked, to the right. The building is covered with joint-strips (west), and with strips on battens (east).
