En 1756, le gouverneur Jean-Baptiste Bouvet de Lozier inaugure un fortin baptisé Redoute Bourbon. Bâti au-dessus de la route reliant le chef-lieu à Saint-Paul, il protège cet axe vital entre le nord et l'ouest. L'architecture laisse supposer qu'il serait dû à l'ingénieur Antoine-Marie Desforges-Boucher. De plan carré, les élévations rappellent une pyramide dont le sommet a été tronqué. History
In 1756, the governor Jean-Baptiste Bouvet de Lozier inaugurates a fort named Redoute Bourbon.
