Ce lieu de culte des étudiants catholiques a été élevé en 1933-1936 sur un terrain privé proche de la Cité Universitaire et financée par des fonds privés, daprès le projet de labbé Picard de la Vacquerie et de lindustriel du sucre Pierre Lebaudy. Les plans furent dressés par larchitecte Pierre Pacquet à partir de 1931. Lédifice est en ciment armé, avec un plan en croix latine. Lensemble décoratif est dû au sculpteur Georges Saupique, au maître verrier Jacques Gruber, au ferronnier Raymond Subes et au peintre Angel Zarraga. Léglise fut abandonnée par les étudiants après 1968 et affectée à la communauté portugaise en 1979.

History
This place of worship for Catholic students was built in 1933-1936 on private land near the Cité Universitaire and financed by private funds, according to the project of Abbé Picard de la Vacquerie and the sugar industrialist Pierre Lebaudy. The plans were drawn up by architect Pierre Pacquet from 1931. The building is in reinforced concrete, with a Latin cross plan. The whole of the decorative scheme is due to sculptor Georges Saupique, master glazier Jacques Gruber, ironworker Raymond Subes and painter Angel Zarraga. The church was abandoned by the students after 1968 and assigned to the Portuguese community in 1979.
